Empire reinforcements

With my work on human infantry armies for kings of war, I’ve been digging into my box of empire minis, and finished a bunch of units lately. Nostalgia warning for middlehammer lovers, lots of 90s metal contained inside.

The classic war wagon in a classic scheme. One of my favorite Empire minis. I have modernized it slightly, by swapping out the normal warhorses for mechanical horses. With this new-fangled improvement, the war wagon is ready for a resurgence as the core unit of the “1st Imperial Panzer-Engineer Regiment”. I got another three base coated, although it might take some time for them all to be finished.

A metal steam tank, painted to match the scheme of the classic war wagon. One of the two steam tanks that are part of my planned “1st Imperial Panzer-Engineer Regiment”.

4th Ostermark pike regiment, led by the wealthy baron Thyren von Steinhaf, who has personally outfitted the regiment with modern sallet helmets and long pikes. The regiment is well drilled by Tilean drill sergeants, and has acquitted themselves well against the norse invaders. The baron himself leads from the front in full plate armour and wielding a two handed flamberge. While my empire army will contain troops from various parts of the empire, Ostermark will likely feature heavily.

These are rescue models from a lot purchase, 5th edition state troopers painted very badly, the drummer is their original state. With some new heads, weapons and paint, they had a nice glow up.

The artillery park, likely more guns than I will ever play with, but I was in the flow, so just ran through them all, and it certainly opens up some support options for my human armies. 2x light cannons built with leftovers from my Kislev Urugan cannon conversions, a mercenary dwarf cannon from the 80s, 2x metal great cannons, a metal mortar and 3x metal volley guns. The light guns have been hitting the field lately as ballistas in my kingdoms of men army, and have pulled their weight nicely for their low cost.

And lastly some young Ostermark nobles getting their experience with warfare as a part of the pistolier corps.

More 90s/00s metal is likely to continue to finally see some paint. Baltasar Gelt, cursed company and a griffon hero is currently on the painting table.
